Gorge on a couple of crisp fried tuna patties for a tasty snack! To enjoy them as a filling meal you can slide a patty in burger buns or serve them with some fresh green salad.

You can never go wrong with fried appetizers. The meaty texture of tuna along with the freshness of spring onion & cilantro creates a wonderful bite. The garlic, mustard, and spicy taco seasoning flavors make the patty so yummy.

Try it once and you’ll crave these irresistible crisp fried tuna patties again and again! 

Ingredients

  1. 280 grams canned tuna in water (drained)
  2. 2 eggs (at room temperature)
  3. 4 Tbsp spring onion (chopped finely)
  4. 1½ Tbsp Dijon mustard sauce
  5. 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  6. 1 tsp garlic (minced)
  7. 4 Tbsp cilantro (freshly chopped)
  8. 1 tsp taco seasoning
  9. A pinch of salt
  10. ¼ cup olive oil

Directions

  1. Begin by draining the tuna and transferring it to a mixing bowl. Then, break the tuna into flaky pieces using a fork.

      2. Now, in another bowl, crack the eggs and beat them lightly. Add it to the tuna.

      3. Next, add in the chopped spring onion, Dijon mustard sauce, mayo, minced garlic,            chopped cilantro, taco seasoning, & salt. Combine nicely and divide into 8                          portions.

      4. Place a non-stick pan on the stove over a medium flame. Drizzle the olive oil and              let it heat for 1-2 minutes.

      5. Take a portion of the raw mixture, shape it roughly into a ½-inch thick patty, and              gently place it on the hot pan. Similarly, place 3 more portions one by one while              keeping an inch gap between each patty.

      6. Fry the patties for 6-8 minutes (3-4 minutes per side) until they turn light                          brownish and crisp. Then, remove into a dish lined with an absorbent sheet. 

      7. Finish off frying the remaining 4 patties.

         

         Serve the tuna patties right away along with a dipping sauce!
